This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or buy from us, how we use it, and what rights you have. We’ve tried to write it in plain English.

What We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you buy a kit, sign up for our email list, or contact us, you typically share your name, email address, and any message content. If you make a purchase, you also provide payment information (like your credit card number), but that goes straight to our payment processor, not to us. We never see or store your full card details.

Information collected automatically. When you browse openingdaykit.com, we collect standard web data like your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on the site, and how you got to us (referring website or search query). This happens through cookies and similar technologies.

Information from third parties. If you interact with us through a third-party service (like signing in with a social account or clicking a link from an email), that service may share limited information with us.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies (small text files stored on your device) to make the site work properly, remember your preferences, and understand how people use the site.

We use both first-party cookies (ours) and third-party cookies (from services like Google Analytics). Most browsers let you control cookies in your settings: you can block them, delete them, or get a warning before one is set. Blocking all cookies may break parts of the site.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site, things like which pages are most popular, how long people stay, and whether our marketing is working. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data like your IP address, but it’s anonymized and aggregated. You can learn more at Google’s privacy page or opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.

Payments

We use a third-party payment processor (Stripe or similar) to handle purchases. When you buy a kit, your payment information goes directly to the processor. They store and process your card details under their own privacy policy and PCI-compliant security standards. We only receive confirmation of the transaction, your name, email, and the product you bought.

Email Marketing

If you sign up for our newsletter or buy a kit, we may add you to our email list and send you product updates, tips, and marketing messages. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you’re out. We’ll still send transactional emails (like order confirmations) even if you unsubscribe from marketing, because those are part of the service you bought.

Third-Party Services

We share limited information with trusted service providers who help us run the business, including:

  • Payment processors (Stripe or similar) — to process purchases
  • Email service providers — to send newsletters and transactional emails
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics) — to understand site usage
  • Hosting and delivery providers — to serve the website and deliver digital downloads

These providers only get what they need to do their job, and they’re bound by their own privacy and security commitments. We don’t sell your personal information to anyone.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Fulfill your orders and deliver digital products
  • Send you transactional emails (order confirmations, receipts, download links)
  • Send marketing emails (only if you’ve opted in, and you can opt out anytime)
  • Answer your questions and provide support
  • Improve our site, products, and customer experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as you have an active relationship with us or as needed to run the business. If you buy a kit, we keep your purchase records for tax and legal reasons (typically 7 years). If you just joined our email list, we keep your info until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

Your Rights

You have rights over your personal information. Depending on where you live, these may include:

  • Access — ask what information we have about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your information (subject to legal exceptions)
  • Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime
  • Portability — request a copy of your data in a common format

To exercise any of these rights, email us at dustin@engageflow.co. We’ll respond within a reasonable time.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you’re a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights:

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share
  • The right to request deletion of personal information
  • The right to opt out of the “sale” of personal information (note: we don’t sell personal information)
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To make a CCPA request, email dustin@engageflow.co with “CCPA Request” in the subject line.

Children’s Privacy

Opening Day is intended for business owners and entrepreneurs. Adults running or starting hospitality businesses. Our site and products are not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we’ve collected information from a child, email us at dustin@engageflow.co and we’ll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure hosting, and trusted third-party processors. No system is 100% secure, though, so we can’t guarantee perfect security. If we ever discover a data breach that affects you, we’ll notify you as required by law.

International Visitors

Opening Day is based in the United States. If you visit or buy from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last Updated” date at the top. If the changes are significant, we’ll let you know by email or a notice on the site. Continuing to use openingdaykit.com after an update means you accept the new policy.
